Support
Use this page for Prompt Paster support, troubleshooting, and privacy-safe issue reporting for the Chrome extension.
Before reporting an issue
Do not include real passwords, access tokens, private keys, customer records, unreleased business material, or confidential prompt content in a support request. Replace sensitive values with dummy examples such as user@example.com, example.test, or Sample prompt text.
Helpful details to include
- The Prompt Paster version shown on the Chrome extension details page.
- Your browser and operating system version.
- The website where the issue appeared and the type of field in use, such as a textarea, search box, email field, or page editor.
- Whether the issue happened in the toolbar popup, floating panel,
//prompt picker, chain prompt workflow, import, export, or clear-all flow. - A short dummy-safe example, the result you expected, and what happened instead.
Common workflow checks
- Type
//inside a normal website text field, textarea, or editor to open the in-page prompt picker. - Use the extension popup to add, edit, favorite, copy, import, export, or delete saved prompts.
- For chain prompts, separate steps with a line containing only
---. - Use Export before major prompt edits or before clearing saved prompts so you keep a local JSON backup.
- If the floating panel does not open, confirm the active tab is a normal
httporhttpswebsite. Chrome protected pages and the Chrome Web Store do not allow content scripts.
Privacy and prompt data questions
Prompt Paster is built around local browser storage for saved prompts and preferences. It does not run a backend service for prompt content, does not use telemetry or analytics, and does not sync saved prompts to a cloud account.
