Prompt Paster Privacy Policy

Prompt Paster is a local-first Chrome extension for saving, searching, and inserting reusable AI prompts into supported AI chat websites.

Data Stored Locally

Prompt Paster stores the following data locally in the user's browser using chrome.storage.local:

• Saved prompt titles, keywords, and prompt text
• Chain prompt steps
• Favorites
• Usage metadata such as use count and last used time
• Theme preference
• Chain mode preference
• Chain status bar position

Data Transmission

Prompt Paster does not transmit saved prompts to any external server.

Prompt Paster does not operate a backend server.

Prompt Paster does not sell, rent, or share user data.

Analytics and Tracking

Prompt Paster does not use analytics.

Prompt Paster does not track users across websites.

Prompt Paster does not collect browsing history.

Supported Sites

Prompt Paster runs only on supported AI chat websites declared in the extension manifest. It uses content scripts to detect the // trigger, display the local prompt picker, and insert the selected prompt into the active chat input field.

Permissions

Prompt Paster uses the storage permission to save user prompts and settings locally in the browser.

User Control

Users can export prompts as a JSON backup.

Users can import prompts from a JSON backup.

Users can clear all prompts. Before clearing, Prompt Paster triggers a backup download.
